In October 2000, Cape Fear Community College moved into its new athletic arena – The Joe and Barbara Schwartz Center.  This multi-purpose arena is home to the Cape Fear men's and women’s basketball and volleyball teams.  The facility features a Daktronics Scoreboard along with a state-of-the-art Bose surround sound music system.

The Schwartz Center was fitted with a $4.3 million renovation in February 2019. The renovation included a bland new hardwood floor, a video & media board, new bleachers, three new home locker rooms, a training room, a weight room, a player's lounge, and an upgrade to the public restrooms and lobby.
