Sea Devils Look to Remain Perfect in Conference Play

The Cape Fear Community College basketball team takes a 13-4 record into Region 10 play for Saturday night's showdown at rival Brunswick Community College.

The Sea Devils are 2-0 in Region play.  Brunswick owns a 9-7 overall record this season.

The Sea Devils returned from the Holiday break with an 85-44 victory over Rockingham.  The Sea Devils applied a strong defense, holding Rockingham to 30% shooting from the floor.  Cape Fear also forced 30 turnovers and out-rebounded Rockingham 46-34.

JT Murphy led a balanced attack for the Sea Devils with 14 points.  Landon Atterberry and Anthony Williams both scored 13, while Tony Menton added 11.

All-Region forward Faronte Drakeford continues to have a standout season.  Drakeford leads the Sea Devils averaging 20 points and seven rebounds per game.  Drakeford is shooting 58% from the floor and 83% from the free throw line.  Both also lead Cape Fear.

As a team the Sea Devils are averaging 83 points per game while giving up 72 points per contest.
