Wilmington, NC - Cape Fear Community College cruised to a 101-46 win over Port City Prep in the Sea Devils home opener in downtown Wilmington on Saturday.
Anthony Vanhook led the Sporting News preseason ninth-ranked Sea Devils with 22 points, while James Tillman and Demetres Abrams added 14 points apiece. Nate Sims and Matt Lindsey also contributed with a combined 25 points to close out the individual scoring leaders.
"Just a great way to start the season and really proud of our performance today," said CFCC Coach Ryan Mantlo. "Right now it's all about getting better each day, so we will enjoy this tonight and get back to work Monday to prepare for the Cape Fear Classic next weekend."
Cape Fear (1-0) welcomes Brunswick Community College, CCBC Catonsville and CCBC Dundalk to the Schwartz Center for the Cape Fear Classic Nov. 8-9.
