Wallace Finds Success at Next Level

Wilmington, NC - Former Cape Fear Community College standout Phil Wallace is off to a strong start at Brevard College as the junior transfer from Southern Pines has served as the team's second leading scorer through five games for the Tornados.

Wallace has started all five games for Brevard (0-5) and notched a career-high 25 points in a 66-61 setback to Tusculum College on Nov. 25.

"Phil is such a tremendous leader and we knew that he would be able to step right in and have success at the next level," said CFCC Coach Ryan Mantlo. "All his hard work is paying off and we are very proud of him."

For the year, Wallace averages 16.4 points per while shooting 45% from the floor. He has knocked down 13-of-29 attempts from behind the arc on the season.

Wallace helped lead the Sea Devils to the Region 10 Title in the 2013-14 and an appearance in the NJCAA National Tournament. During his time at Cape Fear he appeared in 33 games, averaging 4.9 points per game in 25.4 minutes per contest. Wallace left CFCC as the career leader in assists.
