Raleigh, NC - Cape Fear men's basketball won its opening game of the season, defeating Wake Tech 88-80.
Freshman guard Donte Tatum led the Sea Devils with 28 points, while sophomore forward Zaqwaun Matthews added 14. Sophomore forward Alston Davis finished with 13 points.
"There were moments when we were good that we must build from," said head coach Ryan Mantlo. "Our schedule gets really tough from here so we must grow in a hurry."
Cape Fear moves to 1-0 on the season. They have the week off before playing Chipola College in the Georgia Highlands Classic, which will take place in Rome, Georgia. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
