Men's Basketball Goes 1-1 at Weekend Tournament

Rome, GA - Cape Fear men's basketball defeated #16 ranked Georgia Highlands, 82-73, on Saturday.

The win comes a day after the Sea Devils fell to #11 ranked Chipola College in the first game of the Georgia Highlands Classic. The Chargers entered 2-2, and defeated Denmark Technical College the day before.

Freshman guard Donte Tatum exploded for 28 points and five assists, while sophomore forward Alston Davis finished with 21 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Jerick Haynes added 15 points.

"This was a great weekend to show us where we are and what we need to do better moving forward," said head coach Ryan Mantlo. "It was great to see us bounce back after a tough loss and beat a very good nationally ranked team on their home floor."

The Sea Devils improve to 2-1 with the win. They play next on Wednesday, November 15th, where they will take on Richard Bland College on the road. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
