Men's Basketball Undefeated at Weekend Tournament

Bolivia, NC - Cape Fear men's basketball won three games over the weekend, defeating Howard Community College 74-66, Chattanooga State Community College 84-54, and Bryant & Stratton College 73-69.

Against Howard, the Sea Devils led by just two at halftime, but wouldn't give up their lead in the second half. Jalen Cameron led with 17 points, while JV Millner scored 13 off the bench. Donte Tatum added 10. Cape Fear shot just 35.5 percent from the field as a team.

They would shoot the ball much better against Chattanooga State, going 47.3 percent from the field. The Sea Devils jumped out to a 40-25 halftime lead, and outscored Chattanooga by another 15 points in the second half.

JJ Miles led the team with 18 points, while Millner scored 17 as a starter in this game. Trayvon Ferrell added 10 from the bench.

Finally, Cape Fear rallied from a five point halftime deficit to defeat Bryant & Stratton on Sunday. After struggling to score in the first half, Cape Fear poured in 44 second half points.

Miles scored a team high 19 points, while Tatum finished with 14.

The three wins improve Cape Fear to 11-2 overall. It's a great finish to 2018, as the team will get the rest of the year off before returning to action on Tuesday, January 8th, where they will take on Johnston Community College on the road at 7:00 p.m.
