Wilmington, NC - Men's basketball defeats conference foe USC Salkehatchie 85-80!
It was a memorable night for the Sea Devils squad as they took down nationally ranked opponent, USC Salkehatchie. The game was back and forth from the start. There were multiple lead changes throughout the game, but Cape Fear was able to come out on top. We saw several Sea Devils score in double figures tonight: Dakari Johnson with 25 points, Torey James with 22 points, and Talton Jones scored 15 points.
Coach Mark Lane says "Great conference win for us, we planned all week for them, and our kids executed very well. Tray and Demarcus really stepped up coming off the bench. Very proud of our kids on how they have bought in. Need to continue to have our foot on the gas".
They are now 12-5 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.
Their next game is scheduled for Monday, January 20th against Combine Academy. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. in the Schwartz Center. Come out and join the Sea Devils for the MLK Celebration Game.
