Wilmington, NC - Men's basketball defeats Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute 105-102 in overtime!
The Sea Devils put on quite the show as we welcomed back former Sea Devil student athletes! It was a back and forth battle all game, seeing multiple lead changes throughout the game. We saw the Sea Devils first overtime game of the season as the score was tied 90-90 at the end of regulation. We were able to put up 15 points in OT to come out on top! We saw multiple standout players. Dakari Johnson led with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. Torey James scored 24 points and 10 rebounds. Trayvon Ferrell had 22 points, 10 rebounds and Talton Jones score 20 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
Coach Mark Lane says "Was really proud of our guys on how they battled the whole game, everyone made big plays in big moments. I preach all the time "toughness" and they proved that today. We are playing championship basketball right now. Need to continue it going into the last stretch of the season".
They are now 17-7 on the season and 5-3 in conference play.
Their next game is scheduled for Wednesday February 19th as they take on Denmark Technical College. Tipoff is set for 7:00pm in Denmark, SC.
