Men's Golf Caps Off Great Season

Melbourne, FL - Cape Fear men's golf capped off a great 2018-19 season with a 17th place finish in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.

The tournament, hosted in Melbourne, Florida, consisted of 24 of the top NJCAA teams from around the country.

Brantley Moore was Cape Fear's top performer, finishing T-38th with a four round score +4. After shooting 75 in Round 1 and 76 in Round 2, Moore went on a tear, finishing -3 for a third round total of 69 and an even par 72 on the final day. During Round 3, Moore finished with four birdies and just one bogey.

Justin Morgan came in second for the Sea Devils, finishing T-56th. He opened the tournament with a Round 1 score of +1 73, totaling four birdies. He followed that up with a 71 in Round 2, but to finish off Morgan had 2 rough days in Round 3 and Round 4 pushing him down in the standings.

Morgan's final tournament of the season caps off an incredible individual season for him, which saw him earn a place on the NJCAA Division I PING All-District Team for District IV.

Thomas Hill finished tied for 96th. His best performance came in Round 1, where he shot 76, including three birdies and 9 pars.

Cape Fear's two other participants, Ryan Graybar and Thomas Alicardi, finished T-100th and T-116, respectively. Graybar played well in Rounds 2 and 4, finishing with scores of 75 and 73. Alicardi, meanwhile, had his best day during Round 3, shooting 78 for the round.

Overall, Cape Fear finished +57 for the tournament. They played their best team golf during Rounds 2 and 4, where they finished with overall totals of 301.

The appearance in the National Tournament caps off a great 2018-19 season for the Sea Devils.
