Rick Stewart is currently retired from Cape Fear Community College, but assumes the head men’s golf coach position.  During his stint at CFCC, Coach Stewart has been named Region 10 coach of the year 10 times in 15 seasons.  He has also produced nine Region 10 Players of the Year, 36 All Region 10 selections and two NJCAA All-Americans (Steven Brame 2007, Clayton Woody 2009). In addition to his first team NJCAA All-American selection, Steven Brame was ranked the #1 player in the nation.

Stewart’s positions at CFCC have included Assistant to the President; Director of Student Services in Public Relations and Promotion of curriculum/state pilot programs; Instructor of the Business Deptartnebt; Director of Human Resource Development; and the Director of Student Activities.

His coaching career began at New Hanover High School where he instructed basketball, golf, and football for five years. He has also coached golf, basketball, men’s softball, women’s softball and tennis for Cape Fear Community College.

Stewart is dedicated and professionally associated with the following organizations: CGA, CSGA, USGA, and the PGA amateur association. He is a member of the N.C. Magazine and the State Rating Committee. He was the President of the Eastern Carolina Community College Athletic Conference (ECCCAC) for five consecutive years, Vice President for 3 years, and on the Executive Committee for 11 years.
