Wilmington, NC - Muhammed Jahateh scored on a free kick in the eighth minute and the Sea Devils found the back of the net four times after the break in a 5-nil win over Richard Bland College on Thursday.
"We started off slow today in the heat, but came out strong after the half time break," said CFCC Coach Chris Libert. "Still undefeated and picking up our first conference win is a good feeling. I'm proud of the team, but we need to keep working harder."
Myles Strickland picked up a goal just one minute into the second half of an assist from Nate Pace, and another in the 75th minute. Mamadou Kelleh tallied in the final third of match while Dakota Moore recorded six saves in the shutout. Connor Chase closed out the scoring in the 87th minute for the Sea Devils.
Cape Fear moved to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The Sea Devils hit the road on Thursday, Sept 11th for a date at the WRAL Soccer Complex against Wake Tech.
