Patrick Henry Defeats Cape Fear

Wilmington, NC - Patrick Henry Community College picked up a 4-2 result over the Cape Fear men's soccer team to pick up a split in Saturday's action at the CFCC North Campus Field.

The Sea Devils picked up the opening goal in the 17th minute from Mamadou Kelleh off a Brian Pinder assist, but a costly turnover in the box two minutes later drew Patrick Henry even. The offensive onslaught continued in the 21st to give the visitor's a 2-1 lead.

"We've been dealing with some health issues as of late and will need to get everyone back healthy if we want to make a run," said Cape Fear Coach Chris Libert. "I felt we played well, but continue to make mistakes that turn into goals for the opposing team."

Patrick Henry built on its cushion just after halftime on a rebound deflection and a penalty kick in 60th minute.

Trailing 4-1, Cape Fear added a late goal in the 82nd minute when Muhammed Jahateh used a Kipp Carriker pass to get within two.

The Sea Devils continue a five-game homestand against CCBC Essex on Sunday, Oct. 5. Kickoff is set for noon.
