Sea Devils Top Southern Maryland

La Plata, MD - Cape Fear Community College used two goals from Andrew Goodman and a game sealer in the 78th minute by freshman McCartney Barrier to defeat the College of Southern Maryland 3-1 in Men's Soccer action on Saturday afternoon.  

Goodman notched his first goal of the match minutes before the break off an assist by Vlyle Walker and made it a two score advantage in the 47th minute. College of Southern Maryland was able cut the deficit in half before Barrier sealed the result in the 78th minute on a pass from Austin Stevens. Connor Belk made nine stops in net for the Sea Devils, who remain undefeated in the early part of the 2015 season.

"It's always nice to pick up a win on the road especially against a great side like Southern Maryland," said CFCC Coach Chris Libert. "It was a hard fought match and look to build on the result heading into tomorrow."

Cape Fear returns to action against Northern Virginia Community College in Leesburg, Virginia on Sunday to complete a brief two-game weekend road trip.
