Men's Soccer Defeats Southwest Virginia

Wilmington, NC - Men's soccer got back in the winning column as they defeated Southwest Virginia in an impressive 15-0 win!

From the start the Sea Devils were fast to get on the board. They scored six goals in the first half and continued to bring the heat after half time. Many players contributed to this win! Charles Barkman and Travis Cotton each had two goals and two assists on the day. Connor Rolph scored one goal and had two assists. Taylor Trimble covered the mistakes and counters by the other team allowing them only two shots on the game.

Coach C.W Ponton says "Score aside (6-0), I wasn't happy at all by halftime with our play. We came out in the second half and performed more like what I know we can do to finish the game off 15-0, which I'm not positive, but I believe is the biggest goal deficit win in program history. With a one-day break and back at it with Wake Tech on Monday we need to bring this momentum from the second half today into the next game".

The Sea Devils are now 1-2 in conference play and 2-2 on the season.

Their next game is scheduled for Monday, September 23rd as they take on conference opponent Wake Technical Community College. The game will be played at Legion Stadium with kick off beginning at 7:30.
