Cape Fear Community College standout point guard Porsha Buchanan signed her National Letter of Intent to play at The University of Northwestern Ohio on a full scholarship last week. Buchanan was a two-time First Team All-Region player, Freshman All-Academic team with a 3.7 GPA and part of the program's original recruiting class under Coach Lori Drake, who started the women's basketball program at CFCC in 2012.
In her sophomore season, Buchanan shot 65 percent from the floor and averaged eight points, three rebounds, six assists and nearly three steals per game.
Northwestern Ohio finished 17-14 overall and 14-6 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.
