Women's Basketball Continues Streak

Hickory, NC - Playing for the second time in as many days, the Cape Fear Community College women's basketball team closed a perfect weekend on the road following a 90-75 victory over Catawba Valley on Sunday.

Jasmine Brown poured in a game-high 30 points for the Sea Devils, who extended their win streak to 13 straight games.

"It was our poorest performance of the year," said CFCC Coach Chris Harris. 'We came out flat and didn't defend the way we are capable. We have to get back to practice and iron a few things out, but happy to get the win and used a big run late in the fourth to put the game away."

With the game tied 20-all after the opening 10 minutes of action, Cape Fear took a two-possession lead into the break. Catawba Valley kept within striking distance headed into the final frame, but Cape Fear outscored their opponents 25-14 during the fourth quarter to secure the result.

The Sea Devils moved to 5-1 in league play and 13-1 overall. Cape Fear is ranked at No. 15 in the nation this week and get back on their home floor for a date with Brunswick Community College on Friday, Jan. 22.
