Raleigh, NC - Cape Fear women's basketball defeated Wake Tech Community College 74-72, in overtime. Jaleesa Dillard and Destiny Campbell each scored 12 points, while TaKwana Bland finished with 11.
The Sea Devils lead in the fourth quarter, but the Eagles would come back to force overtime. However, the Sea Devils remained focused, and were able to hang on to win in extra time.
Head coach Lori Drake was proud of the way her team played even after Wake Tech's comeback. "We faced another conference road game that came down to who wanted in it more, and our ladies stuck together after WTCC came back in the fourth quarter. Overtime games are always a true test of character, grit and the willingness to win."
The win keeps the Sea Devils undefeated in conference play at 3-0, and improves their overall record to 4-2.
Their next game is scheduled for Saturday, December 3rd, where they will return home to face Guilford Tech Community College. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
