Women's Basketball Continues Winning Ways

Kinston, NC - Cape Fear women's basketball continued its winning ways, taking care of Lenoir College, 87-58.

The Sea Devils, riding a two game winning streak, entered Monday's game following a convincing win against Patrick Henry Community College on Saturday, in which a strong second half helped them pull away. The momentum from the weekend carried over into Monday, as they earned their seventh road win of the season.

Head coach Lori Drake likes how her team is performing from one game to the next.

"I am proud of how we are staying focused and consistent game after game."

Leading the Sea Devils was TaKwana Bland, who scored 26 points. It is the second straight game Bland has led her team in scoring, and finished with 20 points or more.

Also contributing was Destiny Campbell, who finished with 20 points. Campbell has been a consistent scorer all season, and currently leads the team with 15.1 points per game.

Finally, Nikia Wallace scored 15. While averaging 7.6 on the season, Wallace has been scoring more thanks to increased playing time.

Cape Fear improves to 14-3 on the season, and 9-1 in conference play with the win. They will play Lenoir Community College again on Wednesday, January 25th, this time at home. Tip off is set for 6:00 p.m.
