Women's Basketball Beats Louisburg on the Road

Louisburg, NC - Cape Fear women's basketball remains undefeated after beating Louisburg College on the road, 81-67.

The Sea Devils entered Friday's game with wins over Clinton Community College and Spartanburg Methodist. The Hurricanes, meanwhile, also came in undefeated, with wins over Thomas Nelson and CCBC Catonsville.

Cape Fear freshman center Andreal Bass led the way with 18 points and 10 rebounds. It marks her second consecutive double-double.

Sophomore point guard Madison Ervin also scored 18 points, while freshman guard Tracey Kemp added 10.

"Our ladies came ready to battle against Louisburg," said head coach Lori Drake. "We know there is a target on our backs and we have to come ready every night."

The Sea Devils jumped out to a double-digit lead, but gave the lead away in the second half. After composing themselves, however, they were able to gain the lead again and come away with the win.

"We gave up a 20 point lead, but quickly pulled a head after I called several timeouts to get ourselves together," said Drake. "Our ladies respond very well and losing is not an option."

Cape Fear moves to 3-0 overall, and 2-0 in conference play. Their next game is scheduled for Monday, November 13th, where they will take on Wake Tech Community College on the road at 6:00 p.m.
