Women's Basketball Falls to South Georgia Tech

Americus, GA - Cape Fear women's basketball fell to South Georgia Technical College 82-61 on Saturday.

Tracey Kemp was the standout performer for the Sea Devils, finishing with 14 points and five rebounds.

The Sea Devils trailed 15-19 at the end of the first quarter, but the deficit would grow, and they would head into halftime trailing 27-38.

South Georgia Tech outscored Cape Fear 27-17 in the third quarter, but the Sea Devils were able to prevent the lead from growing any further in the fourth.

"We took on a tough and very talented SGTC team who simply were a level above us," said head coach Lori Drake. "I am proud of our ladies for forcing SGTC into 22 turnovers on the game. We have to regroup and prepare for Albany Tech tomorrow."

Cape Fear falls to 1-1 on the season.

Tomorrow's game against Albany Tech is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
