Wilmington, NC - Women's basketball defeats Wake Technical Community College 90-83!
The Sea Devils were able to put together four compete quarters in order to pull out this huge conference win! We saw five players score in double figures; Rashauna Grant led with 24 points, Kalaya Hall scored 18 points, Akyia King and Jada Nowlin both had 16 points, and Jadin Gladden scored 12 points.
Coach Lori Drake says "Our kids came to battle today. I couldn't be prouder of what our ladies brought to the game. We came out prepared and ready to beat WTCC today. With the recent passing of Kobe Bryant, Gianna Bryant and all those that lost their lives, we chose to honor them with wearing #2 and #24 tee shirts and held a 24.2 moment of silence. Our kids were moved and really wanted to give it their all today for Kobe and GiGi".
They are now 13-7 on the season and 10-3 in conference play.
Their next game is scheduled for Wednesday, February 12th against Louisburg College. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m. in the Schwartz Center.
