Frederick, MD - Frederick Community College scored with under five minutes left in regulation to earn a 1-0 result over Cape Fear Community College in women's soccer on Sunday.

Melissa Cruz made two saves for the Sea Devils, while CFCC fired 22 shots on goal and took 10 corners, but could night find the back of the net for the second straight game.

"Frederick executed a great plan today and it came off in their favor.  We made a mistake and they found the back of the net. We created a load of opportunities throughout the game, but lacked the final piece of putting them away.  We did some really great things this weekend, the results will not show that, but overall we have to be pleased with our style of play and effort which continues to create so many opportunities."

Cape Fear dropped its second consecutive match to fall to 5-4 overall. The Sea Devils maintain a 5-0 mark in conference and return to league play on the back end of a four-game road swing at USC-Salkehatchie on Saturday, October 3.
