Women’s Soccer Dominates All-Region Team

Wilmington, NC - The 2015 Region 10 Champions of the regular season landed six players on the All-Region Team after clinching their seventh title in the last decade to continue the programs growing success.

"This is a great honor for our players and our team," said CFCC Coach Ryan Deppa. "You only can earn these honors by having quality players around you and that was the case for our 2015 award winners."

Freshman forward Alyssa Coustenis, a NJCAA Division I All-American nominee, was tied 19th in the country for goals scored (19), joining teammates Jenna Pecorini and Katie Causey to receive first-team honors.  2nd team region X honors went to Raime Cooper, Vivian Fernandez, and Madison Manship.

Pecorini recorded eight tallies and played a big role in the attack with 10 assists as the Sea Devils were ranked 26th nationally in total goals.  "Katie Causey was the heart beat of our midfield.  She broke things up, and was a dynamic play maker for the Sea Devils.  Raime played all over the field for us this year," Deppa added. "She filled in where ever we needed and always did a very solid job.  As an attacking mid, she played a key role with helping create opportunities for Jenna and Alyssa. Jenna's effort on and off the ball made her a dangerous player for opponents to deal with.  Alyssa progressed nicely this season.  She had a job as a target forward and that was to score goals and Alyssa proved again and again that she was up for the job."

Sophomore Madison Manship and Vivian Fernandez anchored the defense which helped secure 7 Region X shutouts during the 2015 season.
