Wilmington, NC - Sophomore defensive midfielder Sydney Parker scored a brace as Cape Fear women's soccer defeated Louisburg College 3-0 on Tuesday to remain undefeated on the season.

Parker opened the scoring in the 4th minute, striking from outside the 18 yard box off an assist from freshman midfielder Nina Perry.

Sophomore forward Alaina Capps made it 2-0 in the 28th minute for her eighth goal of the season.

The game remained at 2-0 until the 80th minute, as Parker again scored from outside the box to earn herself a brace. Her two goals today were her first of the season.

Despite the final scoreline, the Sea Devils had to work hard to for the win, as Louisburg made it difficult throughout the game.

"Playing a game like this can be frustrating at times," said head coach Ryan Deppa, "but we kept it together, got out healthy, and [get] back to work tomorrow to continue to push forward."

Deppa praised the effort of Louisburg goalkeeper Rachel Witkin, who made 22 saves during the game.

"[Witkin] played a very solid game. She was busy and was able to come up big at times for her team."

Cape Fear applied pressure the entire game, totaling 41 shot attempts and 25 shots on goal, but Witkin kept the score from getting out of hand.

The win improves the Sea Devils to 6-0 on the season. They return to the field Thursday, September 21st, where they will face USC Lancaster on the road at 4 p.m.
