Cape Fear Dominates USC Lancaster

Wilmington, NC - Cape Fear women's soccer defeated USC Lancaster 8-0 on Saturday.

Six different Sea Devils scored in the game. Kaitlin Plienis led the team with a hat trick, while Kaila Acuna, Dani Donovan, Sally Yamada, Trinity Davis, and Esperanza McKay each scored one.

Plienis's hat trick gives her eight goals on the season, which is tied for second most.

It was an impressive win, but as head coach Ryan Deppa points out, the team has little time to recover.

"[The] team has a short window of recovery before heading back on the road Monday," said Deppa.

The game Monday starts what will be six games in seven days for the Sea Devils. Many are make-up games due to Hurricane Florence.

Cape Fear improves to 9-1 on the season and 5-0 in conference.

Monday's game is against Wake Tech on the road at 2:00 p.m.
