Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight

Louisburg, NC - With their backs against the wall trailing two games to one, the Cape Fear Community College volleyball team rallied to force a decisive fifth set on Tuesday night and pulled out a 3-2 victory over Louisburg College.

"It was an ugly win, but we didn't give up," said CFCC Coach Emily Coleman. "We were beating ourselves most of the night."

The Sea Devils jumped out to a 1-0 advantage after grabbing the opening set 25-16 thanks to the efforts of Amber Tyndall, who finished with 15 kills and six blocks. Louisburg stormed back and pulled out a pair of close games to take control of the match before Cape Fear grabbed a 25-17 result in set four and 15-12 triumph in the fifth to clinch the road win.

Bailey Toman added 13 kills for the Sea Devils, who have now won four straight. Cape Fear moved to 6-2 in conference and 10-6 overall. They begin a four game home stand over the weekend starting with USC-Lancaster at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 2.
