Volleyball Closes 20 Win Season

Winterville, NC - After grabbing a five set win over Wake Tech to advance in the Region X-District P Tournament, the Cape Fear Community College volleyball team had their season come to an end following a 3-0 sweep at the hands of Pasco Hernando State College.

The Sea Devils used an overall effort to advance through the quarterfinals thanks to four different players with double digit digs. Chelsea Bailey had a team high 31 digs, while Faryn Salazar chipped in offensively with 33 assists.

"I'm really proud of the way all these girls bought in to our system and fought hard all season," said CFCC Coach Emily Coleman. "It was a tough loss to close the year and definitely sad to see the sophomores go."

Salazar closed with 18 assists and 11 digs in the season-ending setback and Amber Tyndall had seven kills.

Cape Fear closed the season 20-8 overall and won six of their last seven matches to close the year.
