CFCC Women's Volleyball Seize Back-to-Back Wins

Hickory, NC - The Cape Fear Women's Volleyball team won both of their games Saturday, beating both Surry Community College, and Bryant & Stratton College by scores of 3-0.

Against Surry, the Sea Devils won a close first game 26-24, before controlling the second and third games, winning by scores of 25-14, and 25-12, respectively. Amber Tyndall led Cape Fear with 10 kills and 2 blocks, while Chelsea Bailey had 17 digs.

Head Coach Emily Coleman was pleased with the way her team performed against Surry, and how they rebounded from yesterday's loss. "This game is always tough because Surry is such a solid team. They always bring their best game. We had a little trouble in the beginning, but we regained focus and pulled out a great win. We did a nice job bouncing back from the games yesterday."

In their second game against, Bryant & Stratton, Cape Fear controlled each of the three games, winning by scores of 25-14, 25-12, and 25-5.

Bailey Toman hit .889 with 8 kills and zero errors. Hope Mason record 5 kills and 5 service aces.

Coach Coleman was happy with the way her team started, and continued to play as the match went on. "This was a great team effort. We started off strong and never let off of the gas. I am proud of their ability to stay focused throughout this game."

With the two wins today, the Sea Devils improved to 3-1 on the season, and 3-1 in conference play.

They will return to action on the road next Saturday, September 3rd, where they will face Davidson County Community College at 2:00 pm, followed by a match against Pitt Community College at 3 pm
