WILMINGTON, NC---- The Sea Devil women's volleyball program hits the road to the sunshine state for five matches, highlighted by the game against Pasco-Hernando State College, the defending district champion. Cape Fear will play one match, versus Lake-Sumter State College in Leesburg, Florida on Thursday afternoon before arriving in New Port Richey, FL, on Friday for the opening day matches of the Pasco-Hernando State College Tournament.
"All teams are extremely solid each year. This will be a very competitive weekend," said Coach Emily Coleman.
LAST TIME OUT
The Sea Devil women's volleyball program closed out the Catawba Valley Community College Tournament with a (3-0) victory over the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton College (VA). Cape Fear held Bryant & Stratton College (VA) to only 31 points combined in the match, (25-14, 25-12, 25-9). Leading the way for the Sea Devils was a dynamic duo of sophomores; setter Fayn Salazar (1 kill, and 11 assists), and libero Chelsea Bailey (1 assist, 3 serve aces, and 5 digs). Feshman setter/right side Ali Jenkins also nothed a stellar match (1 kill, 6 assists, 6 serve aces). With the win over Bryant & Stratton College, the Sea Devils improved to (3-1) on the season.
