Volleyball Loses First Game of Florida Road Trip

Leesburg, Flordia - The Cape Fear women's volleyball team opened their first of five games this weekend with a 0-3 loss to Lake Sumter State College.

Freshman Payton Schoenleber led the team with 9 kills.

The Sea Devils played three close games, but would fall short in each, losing by scores of 21-25, 22-25, and 18-25.

"We just didn't compete tonight," head coach Emily Coleman said following the match. "We have to start learning how to bounce back after adversity."

With the loss, the Sea Devils fall to 3-2 on the season.

They will play two matches tomorrow in New Port Richey, Florida, first against Kansas City CC at 11:00 a.m., then against South Florida State at 3:00 p.m.
