CFCC Volleyball Wins Seventh Straight

Kinston, NC - The Cape Fear women's volleyball team continued their strong run of form, defeating Lenoir Community College on the road 3-0 by scores of 25-14, 25-23, and 25-15.

Freshman Cali Watson lead the Sea Devils with seven kills and three blocks, while sophomore Faryn Salazar lead the team with 15 assists and four aces.

Cape Fear controlled both the first and third sets, but had to hold off a comeback by Lenoir in the second set. Head coach Emily Coleman was happy with how her team played throughout the game, and the way they prevented Lenoir from taking the second set.

"We came in and did our job," said Coleman. "I'm proud of our poise after they came back in the second set."

The win improves Cape Fear's overall record to 10-6 overall, and 9-1 in the conference. It was also their seventh straight victory.

Their next scheduled games are Friday, October 7th, where they will take on Northern Virginia Community College at 2:30 p.m., followed by a match against Spartanburg Methodist at 7:00 p.m. Both games will be played at Catawba Valley Community College, located in Hickory, North Carolina.
