WILMINGTON, NC—The Sea Devil Women's Volleyball program closes out their 2016-2017 regular season on Friday evening versus the Lancers of USC Lancaster in their annual "Sophomore Night." Cape Fear will honor Tressa Amico, Faryn Salazar, Chelsea Bailey, Bailey Toman, Amber Tyndall, Kassie McRostie, and Kacie Markle prior to the match to recognize their accomplishments in a pre-match ceremony.
The Sea Devils will put their 15 match win streak on the line as USC Lancaster (10-11) overall and (6-8) in Region 10 Conference play invade the Schwartz Center; the Lancers currently have lost their last three matches in a row with their last win coming in a (3-0) victory over Bryant & Stratton (VA) College on Saturday, October 15.
"We are coming together at the right time to prepare for regionals. The girls want to earn a spot to nationals so bad, and I know they can do it," said Sea Devil Women's Volleyball head coach Emily Coleman prior to Friday's match versus USC Lancaster.
Following their match versus the Lancers, the Sea Devils will prepare for the 2016 NJCAA Region 10 Conference Championship Tournament that will begin on November 4, 2016.

Tressa Amico- 5'10" Middle Blocker
- Amico, the Lincolnton, North Carolina (North Lincoln HS) native, has made 44 match appearances while playing in 144 sets, has recorded 222 career Kills, 222 Blocks, 44 Digs, and 416.5 Career Points.
Faryn Salazar- 5'8" Setter
- Salazar, the Hickory, North Carolina (Hickory HS) native, has made 51 match appearances while playing in 170 sets, has recorded 69 career Kills, 34 Blocks, 206 Digs, 842 Assists, 33 Service Aces, and 128.5Career Points.
Chelsea Bailey- 5'7" Defensive Specialist/Libero
- Bailey, the Greenville, North Carolina (DH Conley HS) native, has made 51match appearances while playing in 168 sets, has recorded 599 career Digs, 29 Blocks, 52 Assists, 26 Service Aces, & 115.5 Career Points.
Bailey Toman- 5'10" Outside Hitter/Middle Blocker
- Toman, the Keenesburg, Colorado (Weld Central HS) native, has made 51 match appearances while playing in 155 sets, has recorded 289 career Kills, 76 Blocks, 211 Digs, 8 Assists, 35 Service Aces, and 387 Career Points.
Amber Tyndall- 5'11" Right-Side Hitter
- Tyndall, the Fayetteville, North Carolina (Gray's Creek HS) native, has made 51 match appearances while playing in 168 sets, has recorded 295 career Kills, 80 Blocks, 33 Digs, 7 Assists, 2 Service Aces, and 358.0 Career Points.
Kassie McRostie - 6'0" Outside/Right Side Hitter
- McRostie, the Wilmington, North Carolina (New Hanover HS) native, has made 35 match apperances while playing in 99 sets, has recorded 130 career kills, 19 Digs, 47 blocks and 162.5 Career Points.
Kacie Markle- 5'11" Outside Hitter
- Markle, the Pilot Mountain, North Carolina (East Surry HS) native, has made 22 match appearances while playing in 58 sets, has recorded 110 career Kills, 47 Digs, 29 Blocks, and 135.0 Career Points.
"This is a special group of young women that have given everything to this program and will be truly missed, they have set expectations and goals from day one, and they are not willing to waiver. They have all given everything to make sure we acheive our goals as a team," commented Coach Coleman on her excellent group of sophmores.
