Hickory, NC - Cape Fear women's volleyball swept all three opponents on Saturday, defeating USC Salkehatchie, USC Lancaster, and Guilford Technical Community College, 3-0.

The early game against the Indians of Salkehatchie saw the Sea Devils take all three sets easily by scores of 25-10, 25-5, and 25-6. They had a fairly easy time against the Lancers of Lancaster as well, winning the sets 25-13, 25-8, and 25-10.

In the final match against Guilford Tech, Cape Fear won the first set easily 25-6. The Titans regrouped in the second set, however, but Cape Fear managed to take it 25-16, and then followed with a win in the final set, 25-12.

In all, it was an impressive day for the Sea Devils, who hit .414 as a team in the three games combined.

Head coach Emily Coleman was pleased with her team's play all day, but particularly against Guilford Tech.

"We swept all three teams, but all in all I'm extremely proud of the way we came together in the final match."

She also praised her team's play, which has improved in recent games.

"We're starting to click as a team, and I'm excited to see how we continue to push ourselves. Our passing kept us on top in most of the matches."

Coleman pointed to the play of sophomore Libero Karly Mathias, who created a lot of scoring opportunities.

"[She] stepped it up, and she made some amazing plays."

The Sea Devils improve to 10-0 on the season with today's victories. They play next on Tuesday, September 26th against Pitt Community College. The game will take place at Brunswick Community College in Bolivia, NC, and will be broadcast on Youtube. A link to the broadcast will be found on goseadevils.com.
