Louisburg, NC - Cape Fear volleyball defeated Louisburg College 3-0 on the road Monday evening.

After going 1-1 this past weekend, the Sea Devils looked to earn a win on the road over the Hurricanes, who entered tonight's match third in Region 10 with a conference record of 6-4 and an overall record of 17-5.

While Cape Fear was able to win in three straight sets, none came easy. The first and third sets went to extra points and both finished 26-24, while the second set was close as well, with the Sea Devils taking it 25-20.

The final set looked in doubt as well, as Cape Fear was down 24-20. They rallied off six straight points, however, winning the match in dramatic fashion.

"I'm so proud of their fight and ability to stay focused," said head coach Emily Coleman. "We came in and took care of business."

Shilah Haumann led with 13 kills, while Karly Mathias had 21 digs. Ali Jenkins also performed well, finishing with 30 assists.

The win improves Cape Fear to 17-4 on the season and 10-1 in conference play. They play next on Wednesday, October 18th, where they will face second place Lenoir Community College at home at 6:00 p.m. With a win, Cape Fear would clinch 1st place in NJCAA Region 10.
