Volleyball Ends Season with 19-6 Record

Bolivia, NC - Cape Fear volleyball ended its season with a 3-0 loss to Pasco-Hernando State College in the NJCAA Region 10 tournament.

The Sea Devils got off to a solid start in the first set, but an injury to Jennifer Shirley took away their momentum, and they came up short 25-22. Cape Fear had a much harder time in the second and third sets, losing 25-17 and 25-14, respectively.

Pasco-Hernando was aggressive throughout the match, and totaled 12 kills in each set.

"This was a tough game," said head coach Emily Coleman. "Jennifer Shirley went down in the first set and we were on a roll. But they never gave up and as a coach that's all you can ask for."

Karly Mathias finished with 10 digs, while Shilah Haumann had four kills. Madison Spencer added six blocks.

Cape Fear finishes the season 19-6 overall, and 12-2 in conference play.
