Volleyball Falls Short to Surry CC

Dobson, NC - Cape Fear women's volleyball lost it's opening match of the season on Friday with a 3-1 road loss to Surry Community College.

The Sea Devils came up short in the first two sets, losing 25-19 and 25-18, respectively, but they managed to win the third 25-23. The fourth set was close as well, but this time Surry would come away the winners at 25-23.

Taylor Long led Cape Fear with 15 kills, while Lindsay Thompson finished with 9 digs.

"[It was] not the start we want to begin the season, but have first game jitters out of the way and understand what it will take to be successful going forward," said Heather Emborsky.

The Sea Devils fall to 0-1 on the season. They will play again on September 7th against Louisburg College.
