Volleyball Falls to Wake Tech on the Road

Raleigh, NC - Cape Fear women's volleyball lost 3-1 to Wake Tech Community College on Wednesday.

The Sea Devils dropped the first two sets 23-25 and 21-25, but managed to keep the match alive with a 26-24 third set win. However, the Eagles of Wake Tech rebounded in the fourth set, 25-17, which gave them the match win.

Madison Spencer and Taylor Long tied for most kills with 14 kills a piece. Callie Weaver added seven. Lindsay Thompson finished with 22 digs, while Caroline Compton had 13 digs and a team high 46 assists.

"It is tough to jump right into matches after a three week hiatus, but the girls kept the game tight and just need to work on keeping hitting errors to a minimum." said head coach Heather Emborsky.

Cape Fear falls to 1-2 on the season and 0-2 in conference play. Their next match is scheduled for Friday, October 5th, where they will take on South Florida State in the first match of a two day tournament located in Hickory, North Carolina.
