Cape Fear Concludes Catawba Valley Tournament

Hickory, NC - Cape Fear women's volleyball lost it's second game on Saturday to Spartanburg Methodist by a score of 3-0.

The Sea Devils competed hard against the Pioneers, but fell in three consecutive sets by scores of 25-18, 25-21, and 25-16.

Lindsay Thompson led the Sea Devils with 28 digs and threes aces, while Maryellie Carpenter had 12 digs and eight kills. Madison Spencer added 11 kills and four blocks.

Despite the losses over the weekend, head coach Heather Emborsky saw positive signs from her team in the final match today.

"Though we aren't coming home with the win, I finally saw the team sync and play with purpose and towards the same goal."

The Sea Devils fall to 1-6 on the season. They play next on Wednesday, October 10th, against Pitt Community College on the road.
