Volleyball Drops Road Matches

Louisburg, NC - Cape Fear women's volleyball lost two matches on Friday to Catawba Valley Community College and Louisburg College.

Lindsay Thompson led the team with 16 digs, while Callie Weaver and Taylor Long each finished with five kills.

"Overall, it's tough playing a lot of matches in a short period of time especially when the competition is strong," said head coach Heather Emborsky of their match against Catawba.

Cape Fear lost the second match to Louisburg 3-0 as well, losing the sets 25-19, 25-21, and 25-14.

Caroline Compton led with 12 digs and 24 assists, Neryssa Donnell finished with two aces and seven digs, and Taylor Long led the team in kills with nine.

"Overall, [it was a] poor performance and [we had] little time to make adjustments with a hefty game schedule," said coach Emborsky.

The Sea Devils drop to 3-11 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

They play next on Saturday, October, 20th; first against Davidson Community College at 11:00 a.m., followed by a 1:00 p.m. match against USC Lancaster.  Both matches will take play at Laney High School in Wilmington, NC.
