Volleyball Defeats Lenoir CC

Kinston, NC - Cape Fear women's volleyball defeated Lenoir Community College 3-1 on Wednesday.

The Sea Devils won the opening two sets by scores of 25-15 and 28-26. Lenoir took momentum gained in the second set to edge Cape Fear 25-23 in the third, but the Sea Devils responded by winning the fourth set 25-20 to claim victory.

Madison Spencer led the team with 14 kills and six blocks, while Callie Weaver added 12 kills and 26 digs. Ally Vernon added 10 kills and two blocks, Lindsay Thompson recorded a team high with 38 digs.

"[I'm] very pleased with how the team played," said head coach Heather Emborsky. "They overcame big deficits to come back and in the end win the game."

The Sea Devils improve to 6-9 overall and 5-5 in conference play. Their next match is scheduled for Thursday, October 25th, where they will take on Fayetteville Tech Community College at 6:30 p.m. The match will be played at Coastal Christian High School in Wilmington, NC.
