Charles Barkman joins the CFCC Women's Soccer coaching staff as an Assistant Coach for the Fall 2024 season. Barkman is a CFCC Men's Soccer alumnus who played under current Women's Soccer Head Coach C.W. Ponton (then Men's Head Coach) in 2019.

Barkman returns to the Sea Devils after playing semipro soccer in Wilmington, NC as well as Sporting OKC, where they won the OKC State Cup in 2021. Prior to his semipro debut, Barkman graduated from Bob Jones University in 2020, where the team was crowned NCCAA DII South Region Conference Champions and advanced to the semifinals of the NCCAA DII National Tournament. Before his success with BJU, Charles played for CFCC in 13 games with 7 starts, 4 goals, and 3 assists.

Before transferring to CFCC, Barkman played his Freshman season at Delta State University where he earned 5 starts and 3 assists.

After finishing off his collegiate career, Barkman has coached girl's and boy's soccer at the middle school and high school levels at Wilmington Christian Academy, as well as a club coach for the Pender Storm.

Charles resides in Wilmington, NC with his partner Whitney.
