Lady Sea Devils Drop SMC

Spartanburg, SC - The Cape Fear Community College women's basketball team continued a three game road swing Saturday afternoon with a decisive 83-69 win over Spartanburg Methodist in South Carolina.

"We really got after it under the glass, on defense and moved the ball well today," said CFCC Coach Lori Drake. "Anytime you have 17 team assists and 41 rebounds, you know that everyone is getting involved. Hopefully, we can bring some of the same intensity into tomorrow's game."

Alexis Redd shot 5-of-11 from three-point land as part of her game-high 21 points, while Porsha Buchanan put in an all-around effort on both ends of the floor with 17 points, three steals and two assists to pace the Lady Sea Devils.

Cape Fear improved to 6-7 in conference and 14-7 overall as the team gets ready to wrap up the weekend with a date at Clinton Junior College on Sunday.
