Wilmington, NC - Ryan Deppa comes to Cape Fear Community College with an abundance of successful coaching experience at the youth, high school, club, adult amateur, and NJCAA/NCAA college levels. Coach Deppa played for NJCAA Region 3 power Genesee Community College in Batavia, NY (1993-1994), where he was a captain his sophomore season. Coach Deppa played year round competitive, travel, high school and youth soccer, and was a member of the NY West Southern Tier ODP program (1991-1992).

Coach Deppa just finished his forth season (2018) at Cape Fear. Since Coach Deppa arrived in 2015, the Sea Devils have won four regular season Region 10 titles and won three Region 10 tournament titles, one District title, and in 2016 the team earned a trip to the NJCAA Division 1 national tournament in Melbourne, FL. The Sea Devils continue to be a regionally/nationally ranked program in the NJCAA and United Soccer Coaches polls. Coach Deppa is excited to continue to work with his players and staff to create an amazing team experience, while working towards college degrees, and future opportunities on and off the field. 

In 2014 as an assistant coach for the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford (Bradford, PA), his team earned its first regular season AMCC conference title, and it’s most successful season to date for the Panthers which included 15 wins, and the AMCC conference player of the year. During his seasons as an assistant for the Men’s and Women’s soccer programs at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford (Bradford, PA), each team qualified for the AMCC conference tournament 100% of the time.

Notably, Coach Deppa was the first Head Women’s Soccer Coach at the Cattaraugus County Campus of Jamestown Community College (Olean, NY). Ryan, his staff, and his players built a program from the ground up which soon became a nationally recognized NJCAA Region 3 Division III program.  In 2010, the Jaguars became ranked for the first time in school history in the NJCAA, reaching as high as #3 in the NJCAA DIII national poll in 2011, and as high as #5 in the NSCAA DIII national poll. In 2011 the Jaguar’s earned its first WNYAC conference title, NJCAA Region 3 title, and advanced to the NJCAA Division 3 national tournament. Coach Deppa’s teams earned trips to the NJCAA Region 3 tournament each season under his guidance. The final three seasons at Cattaraugus County Campus of Jamestown Community College (Olean, NY) the teams combined for a record of 45-13-1.  The Jaguars consistently earned national honors for team ethics, and ranked high in the region and the country for overall team GPA.

Coach Deppa continues to develop and grow as a coach through well-rounded soccer education which includes certificates and diplomas’ from the NSCAA/United Soccer Coaches, Positive Coaching Alliance. US Youth Soccer, NHFS, Sport Coach 21, and FA Learning.  Coach Deppa resides in Carolina Beach, NC with his daughter Emeri.
