Wilmington, NC - This season the Cape Fear Lady Sea Devil Volleyball team signed eight new players, including two transfers. These signees bring depth to the already solid returning class that finished second in Region 10 last season.
The new Sea Devils include Ali Jenkins - setter/right side - Johnson City, TN, Karly Mathias - DS/Libero - Fayetteville, NC, Laney Sigmon - DS/Libero - Hickory, NC, Ashlynn McNamara - DS/Libero - Wilmington, NC, Hope Mason - outside hitter - Wilmington, NC, Cali Watson - middle blocker - Southport, NC, Kacie Markle - outside hitter - Pilot Mountain, NC, and Payton Schoenleber - setter/outside hitter - Topsail, NC.
"I am so excited for this season to get here," said Sea Devil Head Coach Emily Coleman. "We added a phenomenal assistant coach in former Sea Devil middle blocker Brittani Jefferson, to go along with the addition of these eight new players. I am excited to see the new signess mix with our strong sophomore class in hopes of bringing home a championship."
Not only did the team add new faces, it welcomes back red-shirts Kassie McRostie and Jennifer Shirley.
"Overall, this is one of the strongest teams I've had since beginning coaching here. There is so much leadership and passion with the sophomore class and a thirst to compete with the freshman," added Coach Coleman.
