Sea Devils Open Season with a Win

Spartanburg, SC - Cape Fear women's volleyball won their first 2 opening matches of the season on Friday at the Spartanburg Methodist Invitational.

In the first match the Sea Devils were up against College of Lake County and won in three sets, 25-17, 25-17, and 25-12.

Ceri'on Ellis Mosely led the team with 10 kills, 4 aces, and 10 digs, while Cassie Taylor added 6 kills, and 8 aces. Meanwhile Naomi Pegues totaled 20 assists and 1 ace.

In the second match of the day Cape Fear rallied and beat Spartanburg Methodist in 5 sets 26-24, 13-25, 26-24, 18-25, and 15-12.

Callie Weaver finished with 15 digs and 2 aces, while Cassie Taylor had 9 digs and 11 kills. Cerion Ellis-Mosley added 11 kills and 1 block, and Angelica Biele finished with 17 assists and 4 blocks.

"This was a fantastic start to our season, I'm looking forward to continuing to watch the team grow stronger", said Coach Emborsky.

Cape Fear's record now stands at 2-0 overall and 0-0 in conference play.

They play tomorrow, Saturday, August, 24th at 11am and 3pm to close out the weekend at the Spartanburg Methodist Invitational.
