Colby Rosser joined the Sea Devils as Head Volleyball Coach in August of 2020 and brings over 15 years of experience coaching at the high school, collegiate, and club levels. Rosser has coached her team through back-to-back trips to the NJCAA National Tournament in 2021 and 2022, while also earning 2022 Southeast District B Coach of the Year honors. Her 2022 squad was ranked #13 in the pre-season rankings, which was the highest that the team had ever achieved in CFCC Athletics history.

Rosser spent seven seasons as a coach with Triangle Volleyball Club in Raleigh, NC. In early 2018 she expanded her role with Triangle and became an Assistant Director while maintaining her coaching duties. She has worked with a variety of age groups, but spent her most recent seasons at the helm of Triangle’s 15-1 team. Rosser then relocated to Hampstead, NC with her family and works with East Coast Volleyball Academy as their Indoor Volleyball Director and court coach.

Rosser served as Head Varsity and Junior Varsity coach at Southern Wayne High School from 2007-2009, leading the varsity team to three consecutive state tournament appearances and notching two Conference Coach of the Year awards. In 2013 she took over the program at Louisburg College where she guided the team to its first winning season and its best program finish since 2008. Rosser also spent two years coaching at her alma-mater, UMO, as the Head Coach for the women’s team and the assistant on the men’s side before returning to club volleyball.

A graduate of John T. Hoggard High School in Wilmington, NC Rosser was a part of a 2001 squad that went to the 4A state finals. She attended the University of Mount Olive (formerly Mount Olive College) where she was a 4-year starting Middle Blocker and helped lead her team to their first and second NCAA tournament appearances in 2004 and 2005. The 2005 team set school records for best overall (28-8, .772) and conference (19-1, .950) winning percentage. A three-time all-conference recipient, Rosser remains the Trojan’s all-time career blocks leader (744) as well as holding the record for season-hitting percentage (.408).

Rosser's favorite Sea Devils Athletics Memory was winning the 2021 Region 10 Tournament at home and securing their spot in the National Tournament. "The girls took complete ownership. They played with confidence and a spark and they worked together seamlessly. I knew we were going to finish it and get the win, but that exact moment when it happened, watching them run out and dogpile on the court, and having my daughter run down to join us in celebration; it's definitely one I will never forget!"

Colby resides in Hampstead, NC with her husband Brandon, daughter Payson, dog Finley, and cat Biscuits.
