In Short: The Sea Devils capped off a win vs the Walters State Senators for the South Atlantic District B Championship on Friday night in the Schwartz Center.

Highlights:

Cape Fear Volleyball punched their ticket to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament Friday night by notching another win in the Schwartz Center against Walters State. After losing in the Region 10 Tournament Championship, the Sea Devils were eager for their District Championship game and were able to close out the match with a win.

The Sea Devils have faced Walters State once before and lost that matchup, so they were primed for the rematch in such a high stake contest.

Cape Fear finished the First and Second Sets quickly 25-16 and 25-15, but Walters State proved to be a force to be reckoned with in the Third Set - finishing 20-25 in favor of the Senators. But the Sea Devils were able to recoup and put their foot on the gas headed into the Fourth. Cape Fear finished the match with high energy and continued to adjust their play throughout to keep the Senators honest.

Charly Meade led the Sea Devils with 12 kills while Leah Davis collected a total of 22 digs. Setters Hannah McDowell and Madalyn Rinck totaled 37 successful assists for Cape Fear. Abby Morse played a major role in the Sea Devils' blocking while Madie Ballou finished off the win with a killer swing.

"We had a game plan that we worked on all week and they stuck with it," remarks Head Coach Colby Rosser. "Our focus will be getting all of our players healthy and fine tuning some things in practice. We're definitely ready to go back out to Nationals this year."

Up Next: Cape Fear will await seeding from the NJCAA and will travel for the NJCAA Division II National Tournament November 17-19.
