Men’s Golf Wraps-Up Fall Season

Wilmington, NC - The Cape Fear Community College golf team has finished another fall season, and the spring looks to be promising.  The Sea Devils placed in the top half of the District Preview, a prestigious tournament that showcases some of the best talent on the east coast.  Cape Fear has dominated Region 10 action, placing higher than every Region 10 member in each tournament but one on the young season.

Cape Fear is led by freshman Tanner Pearson.  Pearson currently boasts a 75.9 average, finishing in the top 20 in every tournament and highlighted by his 8th place finish at the District Preview.  Sophomores Tommy Raddin and Davis Hilton follow closely with a 77.4 and 78.1 average respectively.  Freshman Zach Joines rounds up his fall season with a 79.9 average while Kyle Shuffler finishes out the Sea Devil scoring, coming in with an 81.1 average.

 "I am very proud of these young men thus far this season," commented head coach Rick Stewart.  "We understand how far we have to go to win a championship but we also understand it is within our reach."

The Sea Devils return to the links In Fleming, Florida on February 11th, as they take aim at a championship in the Lincoln Memorial University Invitational.
