Sea Devils Blowout the Dolphins in Return to the Schwartz Center

On the day of the Schwartz Center's grand reopening, the Sea Devils looked to repeat what they did earlier his season, hand Brunswick Community College, a loss.

The first points of the night were scored by #24 Quate McKinzie, who helped set the tone of the first half.

The Sea Devils played smothering defense through the first half, not allowing an offensive rebound through the first ten minutes and only allowing 33 points in the half.

While the Sea Devils usually thrive offensively in the paint, freshmen guard #22 Demetric Horton provided a spark beyond the arc. Horton caught fire making 6 threes and totaling 20 points in the first half, leading the Sea Devils to a 62-33 lead at halftime.  The second half saw the Dolphins try to climb back into the game. While they forced several turnovers and a valiant 14 point effort by Dolphins guard Tyrece Cheek, they never got within 20 points of the Sea Devils.

The final score was 109-79 the Sea Devils taking the win. Demetric Horton led the four Sea Devils in double digits with 25 points alongside Quate McKinzie with 14, #5 JJ Miles with 13, and #4 Trayvon Ferrell with 12. The Sea Devils remain in first place in Region 10 Standings, with an 8-2 record, 23-4 overall. CFCC returns home to the Schwartz Center for their final home game of the year on Saturday, March 2nd as they host Caldwell CC. Tip off is set for 3pm.
